Terms and Conditions

Last updated Oct 1, 2026

These terms set out the rules for using EasyPortugalNow and for buying what we sell. They are written in plain English, which is also the language of the contract. Please read them before you buy, and save or print a copy if you like.

Who we are

EasyPortugalNow is published by TWENTY M, a French simplified joint-stock company (SAS) with share capital of 1,000 euros, registered with the Paris Trade and Companies Register under number 990 370 603, with its registered office at 229 rue Saint-Honoré, 75001 Paris, France, and EU VAT number FR75990370603 (“we”, “us”). TWENTY M also publishes EasyFranceNow. You can reach us at contact@easyportugalnow.com or through the contact page.

What these terms cover

  • Your use of easyportugalnow.com and its newsletter.
  • The sale of the Portugal Navigator, our paid app.

Using the site means you accept the parts of these terms that apply to using it. The parts on paid offers apply when you buy, in the version published on the day of your order.

In these terms, a “consumer” is a person buying for purposes outside their trade, business or profession. Most of our clients are consumers, and the rules written for consumers are there to protect them. If you buy for a business, the section “If you buy for a business” also applies to you.

You must be 18 or older to buy the Portugal Navigator.

Information, not advice

Everything on EasyPortugalNow, including the articles and the Portugal Navigator, is general information for U.S. citizens planning a move to Portugal. It is not legal, immigration, tax, financial or medical advice, and it does not create a lawyer and client relationship. Each article shows the date its sources were read, and rules change after that date. Before you act, check the current requirement with the authority concerned, or ask a licensed professional when your situation calls for one.

Accounts

The only account on EasyPortugalNow is the Portugal Navigator account. Reading the site and the newsletter need no account.

Prices and payment

  • Prices are in U.S. dollars. The checkout page shows the total you pay, including any tax that applies to your purchase, before you confirm.
  • The Portugal Navigator is paid by card, or another method Stripe offers, on Stripe’s secure checkout pages. We never see or store your full card number.
  • If your card is not in U.S. dollars, your bank may add a conversion fee. That is between you and your bank.
  • TWENTY M sells under two names, EasyPortugalNow and EasyFranceNow, so your card statement may show either one.
  • A price change never affects an order you have already paid.

The Portugal Navigator

What you buy. The Portugal Navigator is a web app that puts the steps of a move to Portugal in order, adapted to the answers you give it. It costs $229, paid once, or £179 if you pay in pounds. There is no subscription and nothing to renew.

Lifetime access, and what it means. Your access has no end date: it lasts for as long as we run the Portugal Navigator. Everything we add to it later is included at no extra cost. We may change, merge or remove parts of it as the rules they explain change, while keeping its purpose. If we ever decide to close it, we tell you by email at least 6 months before, and since your data is stored on your own device, it stays yours.

Your account and sign-in. You get access with the email address you paid with. You sign in with a one-time code sent to that address, so keep your email account secure.

Personal license. Your purchase gives you a personal, non-transferable right to use the Portugal Navigator for your own move and your household’s: you, your partner and your children. You may not share your access with anyone outside your household, resell it, use it to serve clients, or copy its content to publish or sell it. If you break these rules, we can suspend your access after telling you why, or at once in case of fraud or scraping.

Where your data lives. What you enter in the Navigator is saved in the browser you use, not on our servers. The consequences:

  • we cannot see your data, and we cannot restore it;
  • clearing your browsing data, or using a private window, erases it;
  • another browser or device starts empty until you import the copy you exported from your account page.

Export a copy from time to time; it is your only backup.

14-day money-back guarantee. You can ask for a full refund within 14 days of your purchase, for any reason and without having to explain, even after you have opened and used everything. Email us at contact@easyportugalnow.com, or use one of the ways to withdraw listed below. We refund the full price within 14 days of your request, to the payment method you used, and your access then ends. This commercial guarantee is at least as favorable as your legal right of withdrawal: it lasts the same 14 days, and it keeps applying after you start using the Navigator, so we never ask you to give that right up.

Legal guarantee of conformity. As a consumer, you also have the legal guarantee of conformity for digital content and services (French Consumer Code, articles L224-25-12 and following). The box below sets out your rights, as French law requires for a digital service supplied over a period of time. To use them, write to us at contact@easyportugalnow.com or to the postal address in “Who we are”.

Legal guarantee of conformity for the Portugal Navigator

You are entitled to the legal guarantee of conformity if a lack of conformity appears during the whole period in which we supply the Portugal Navigator to you, which is as long as your access lasts. During that period, you only need to show that the lack of conformity exists, not when it appeared.

The legal guarantee of conformity includes our duty to provide every update needed to keep the Portugal Navigator in conformity throughout that period.

It entitles you to have the Portugal Navigator brought into conformity without undue delay after your request, free of charge and without major inconvenience to you.

You can get a price reduction and keep the Portugal Navigator, or end the contract and get a full refund in return for giving it up, if:

  1. we refuse to bring the Portugal Navigator into conformity;
  2. bringing it into conformity is delayed without justification;
  3. it cannot be brought into conformity without costs to you;
  4. bringing it into conformity causes you major inconvenience;
  5. the lack of conformity continues after our attempt to bring it into conformity has failed.

You are also entitled to a price reduction or to end the contract when the lack of conformity is so serious that an immediate price reduction or termination is justified. You then do not have to ask first for the Portugal Navigator to be brought into conformity.

Where the lack of conformity is minor, you are entitled to cancel the contract only if the contract does not provide for payment of a price.

Any period in which the Portugal Navigator is unavailable while it is brought back into conformity suspends the rest of the guarantee until it is supplied in conformity again.

These rights result from articles L224-25-1 to L224-25-31 of the French Consumer Code.

A business that obstructs the legal guarantee of conformity in bad faith faces a civil fine of up to 300,000 euros, which can be raised to 10 percent of its average annual turnover (article L242-18-1 of the French Consumer Code).

You also have the legal guarantee against hidden defects under articles 1641 to 1649 of the French Civil Code, for two years from the discovery of the defect. It entitles you to a price reduction if you keep the Portugal Navigator, or to a full refund in return for giving it up.

Disputed payments. If you dispute your payment with your bank, your access is suspended while the dispute is open.

How to withdraw or ask for a refund

You have 14 days, counted from the day after your purchase, to withdraw from any of our paid offers (article L221-18 of the French Consumer Code). If the last day falls on a Saturday, a Sunday or a public holiday, you have until the next working day. To do so, send us any clear statement of your decision before the 14 days end:

You can use the model form below, but you do not have to. We confirm receipt by email without delay, and we refund what is due within 14 days of receiving your decision, using the payment method you used unless you agree to another at no cost to you.

Complaints and disputes

If something goes wrong, write to us first at contact@easyportugalnow.com, with your order details. We answer within two business days and do our best to settle it quickly.

If our answer does not settle it:

  • if you live in the European Union, the European Consumer Centre in your country gives free help with a dispute against a business based in another EU country;
  • you can take the dispute to court, as set out in “Governing law and courts” below.

Liability

We carry out what you buy with care, within the times stated, and we are responsible for our own errors as the law provides. We are not responsible for:

  • decisions, delays or changes of rules by consulates, government offices, courts or other authorities;
  • delays caused by carriers or by events beyond our reasonable control;
  • losses caused by information or documents you gave us that were wrong, incomplete or late;
  • decisions you take relying only on the free articles, which are general information.

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability where the law does not allow it, including for personal injury, gross negligence or intentional misconduct, or any right you have as a consumer, such as the legal guarantee of conformity.

If you buy for a business

If you buy for your trade, business or profession, the consumer rules above (the right of withdrawal and the legal guarantee of conformity) do not apply to you, except where the law extends them to you, although the Portugal Navigator’s 14-day money-back guarantee does. Our total liability to you is limited to the price you paid for the offer concerned, except in case of gross negligence or intentional misconduct, and any dispute goes to the courts of Paris.

Intellectual property

The articles, the Portugal Navigator (its content, calculations, templates and code), the EasyPortugalNow name and logo, and the design of the site belong to TWENTY M or to those who licensed them to us. You may read, print and save pages for your own use, share links, and quote a short extract if you name EasyPortugalNow and link to the page. The letters and forms the Navigator drafts with your details are yours to use for your own procedures. Anything else, such as republishing articles, copying the Navigator, scraping the site or reselling what you took from it, needs our written permission.

The articles link to official pages and, sometimes, to companies. We are not responsible for the content of other sites. Some links are affiliate links, which may earn us a commission at no extra cost to you, and some companies appear as partners. Every partner placement is labeled, and neither commissions nor partnerships change what an article says, the sources it cites or what it concludes. The affiliate disclosure explains how this works.

Personal data

How we handle your personal data, including the documents you send us, is set out in the privacy policy.

Governing law and courts

These terms are governed by French law.

  • If you are a consumer living in the European Union, you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of your country of residence. You can take a dispute to the courts of the country where you live or to the competent courts of Paris, France, and we can take action against you only in the courts of your country.
  • If you are a consumer living outside the European Union, disputes go to the competent courts of Paris, France, without prejudice to any mandatory protection that the law of your country gives you and that cannot be excluded by contract.
  • If you buy for a business, disputes go to the courts of Paris, France.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms, for example when we add an offer or the law changes. The version that applies to a purchase is the one published on the day of your order, and the date at the top shows the current version. If a change affects Portugal Navigator account holders, we tell them by email before it applies.
